Verizon Wireless has announced that it will start accepting pre-orders on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play from this Thursday, the 19th of May, and the Xperia Play will go on sale on the 26th of May.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will cost $199.99, and customers will have to sign up for a new 24-month contract with Verizon.
As a reminder, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play features a 4-inch multitouch display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Processing is provided by a 1GHz Qualcomm processor, and there is also an Adreno 205 GPU and 512MB of RAM.
Gaming Capabilities
The Xperia Play is not just any smartphone; it is specifically designed for gaming enthusiasts. It is the first PlayStation Certified smartphone, which means it can run PlayStation games.
