Sky has announced that it is changing the name of Sky Movies to Sky Cinema and the change will take place on the 8th of July.
Sky is not just changing the name of its Sky Movies to Sky Cinema, they are making some changes to the content and bringing more movie premieres to the platform.
With Sky Cinema we are giving customers an even closer to the cinema experience with enhanced picture and sound quality. However, we know the heart of the service is great movies. Customers want a breadth of the latest quality films to enjoy with the flexibility to watch whenever they want and on whatever device they choose. Sky Cinema builds on this commitment with even more premieres and instant access to an unrivalled library of the latest blockbusters and classic films. A better service needs a new name and Sky Cinema is about delivering the ultimate offering for movie fans everywhere.”
At the moment Sky Movies releases new movie premieres once a week, this will change with the launch of Sky Cinema, a new movie will premiere every day.
Sky have also said that they will be bringing more on demand content to Sky Cinema, this will be increased by around 20% to 1,200 movies available to watch on demand.
