If you are interested in yet another lifestyle and health statistics to track you might be interested in the new My Skin Track pH which takes the form of a small wearable sensor stuck to your skin to measure your bodies hydration level. Developed thanks to a partnership between L’Oreal and wearable sensor pioneer Professor John Rogers the small sensor uses a companion application to provide details on your bodies hydration levels.
The My Skin Track pH by La Roche-Posay Helps you keep your body skin hydration levels between 4.5 and 5.5 pH. L’Oreal explains that if your body is not in between those pH levels “a compromised pH balance can trigger inflammatory responses, including dryness, eczema and atopic dermatitis.” check out the video below to learn more about the hydration tracking sensor and compatible companion application.
“The pH scale ranges from acidic to basic, on a spectrum measured from 0 to 14. Healthy skin pH exists within the slightly acidic range between 4.5 and 5.5. When pH balance is compromised, whether through environmental factors and underlying conditions, it can trigger inflammatory responses. Such responses can cause or exacerbate common skin concerns including dryness, eczema, and atopic dermatitis. Millions of Americans suffer from these conditions; according to the National Eczema Association, 1 in 10 Americans (31.6 million) have some form of eczema. “
