The new Skifta application allows you to take your personal media with you and stream it practically anywhere, whether you want to share video, photos or your music.
There’s no uploading to the web or syncing to your phone and you don’t copy or move your media at all. You just leave it where it is. Then, whether it’s somewhere on the Internet or on your computer at home you can access it remotely using your phone. Watch the video after the break for an explanation.
Skifta works by using Digital Living Room Alliance (DLNA) technology. DLNA is a communication protocol that allows electronic devices to talk to each other on a network, regardless of the manufacturer or model and more and more devices are being added to the database of compatible gadgets every month.
Skifta is now available to download from the Android Marketplace and for more information on the new media stream app you can visit the Skifta website.
