Shelby has been building customized Mustangs for years and the Shelby name has also be attached to some production factory Ford cars such as the current GT350. Shelby also takes stock Mustangs and ups the power and style at its shop and the latest of these aftermarket cars is the Shelby GTE. The GTE package can be installed on the 5.0L V8 or the 2.3L EcoBoost versions of the Mustang.
The 5.0 V8 models end up with 456hp and 424 lb-ft of torque. The 2.3L EcoBoost is bumped to 340hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. The Shelby GTE package includes stripes and upgraded exhaust for more sound. The package also includes the Ford Performance handling pack and wider Ford Performance wheels. The hood gets special vents and a special front spoiler is installed.
Backlit Shelby doorsill plates, headrests, and floor mats are installed as well. GTE models gain a special rocker panel, upper and lower grilles, and a new rear spoiler. Buyers can also opt for up to 750hp from the V8 model with a supercharger and a track ready cooling system is available. The base package starts at $17,999 plus the price of the base Mustang and for the money Shelby will keep all the parts it takes off your car.
