We had previously heard that the Samsung Gear S would be launching in the UK with third party retailers last month, although the release of the device was delayed slightly.
Now Samsung has officially confirmed that the Samsung Gear S smartwatch will go on sale in the UK this Friday the 7th of October, the device will be sold direct from Samsung’s web store and also with mobile carrier O2 in the UK.
The Gear S comes with Samsung’s Tizen OS and the device also comes with 3G built in, which means that it can be used independently from your smartphone or tablet, of course the device can still be paired with your smartphone if you want.
The Samsung Gear S is equipped with a 2 inch Super AMOLED display that has a resolution of 360 x 480 pixels, the device is powered by a dual core 1GHz processor and it also features 4GB of built in storage and 512MB of RAM.
Other specifications in the Gear S include a 300 mAH battery that will give you up to two days of usage, and it comes with WiFi and Bluetooth, the Samsung Gear S will be available in the UK for £329 and it will go on sale this Friday.
