Samsung is reportedly working on the next iteration of the Galaxy Tab S line up, and is expected to come in two different screen sizes: 8-inch and 9.7-inch.
Now, the folks at SamMobile have revealed the specifications for both the 8-inch and 9.7-inch variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.
Similar to the previous generation, the Galaxy tab S2 are rumored to come with high-end specifications on board albeit a different screen size. The alleged tablets will still come with Super AMOLED displays with a 4:3 aspect ratios, but with a slightly lower resolution. The report says the tablets will sport a resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels instead of the 2,560 by 1,600 pixels, but it shouldn’t be too different in terms of experience as the display size is smaller and such changes are not really visible to a naked eye.
Both tablets are expected to come with a Exynos 5433 processor but there’s a possibility of Samsung bumping it to Exynos 7420 with Cat 6 LTE support. Other specifications include 8MP camera for photos and videos, 2.1MP front-facing camera, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage which can be expanded via a microSD card slot. As far as the battery capacity is concerned, the alleged 8-inch version is said to come with a 3,580 mAh battery while the bigger version will feature a slightly bigger 5,870 mAh battery.
There’s no word about the exact launch, but the report further mentions that it is expected to see the light of the day in mid-2015. Until then, take this rumor with a grain of salt. We’ll update you if we get any other information.
