The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus are expected to launch at MWC 2018 in February and now the S9 Plus has appeared on some benchmarks. The device is listed on Geekbench with the model number SM-G965U1.
The GeekBennch benchmarks have confirmed some of the specifications on the new Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, the handset is listed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. There is also expected to be another version with the Samsung Exynos 9810 processor.
The Galaxy S9 Plus is listed with 6GB of RAM, so it looks like both the S9 and S9 Plus will have 6GB of RAM as standard. It is not clear as yet on whether Samsung will launch another version of the handsets with 8GB of RAM.
The listing also confirms that the new Galaxy S9 smartphones with come with the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android Oreo, you can see the benchmark below.
Other rumored specifications on the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus include dual 12 megapixel rear cameras, the S9 will come with a single 12 megapixel camera. Samsung recently launched their Galaxy A8 and A8 Plus, these handsets have dual front cameras. It is possible that the new Galaxy S9 range will also come with dual front cameras.
The new S9 smartphones will come with improved facial recognition and a new iris scanner, the device will also feature a fingerprint scanner. Samsung are expected to make these two handsets official at a Mobile World Congress press conference in February.
