The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is now official, the handset will be available exclusively through mobile carrier AT&T in the US, and apart from the rugged case, the device has the same specifications as the Galaxy S5.
The handset is designed to be dust and waterproof like the S5, it conforms to the IP67 standard, it is also designed to be knock and drop proof and comes with a MIL-spec 810G rating.
The Galaxy S5 Active features a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, it is powered by a quad core 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and comes with 2GB of RAM.
For storage, the S5 Active has 16GB built it, this can then be expanded by a further 128GB via the microSD card slot. The handset also features a 2 megapixel front facing camera and a 16 megapixel rear camera.
AT&T will be offering the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active for $199.99 when you take out a new two year contract with the carrier, it will also be available on AT&T Next for $35.75 a month, or you can but it without a contract for $714.99.
