The low-end segment of the smartphone market keeps on getting more and more competitive with manufacturers launching a new handset with a pocket-friendly price tag regularly.
Samsung has introduced yet another budget-friendly handset, the Galaxy J1 Ace, in India carrying an attractive INR 6,300 price tag. The handset is available from Samsung’s online store in three color options: black, white and blue.
There’s nothing too attractive when it comes to specifications — it’s a low-end handset and justify the price tag it comes with. There’s a 4.3-inch WVGA display with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and 512MB of RAM — there should be at least 1GB of RAM which is quite normal for budget-friendly handsets. The handset also boasts 4GB of internal storage coupled with a microSD card slot for expansion.
Other features include a 5MP rear camera for photos and videos, 2MP front-facing camera, a 1,800 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0 and ships with Android 4.4 KitKat as its operating system out of the box. To be honest, the specifications aren’t even comparable with the entry-level handsets launched by other manufacturers, especially the Chinese vendors.
