Enthusiasts and purists were thrilled when Porsche launched the 911 Carrera T, which was a lighter 911 with sport suspension, manual transmission, and a mechanical limited slip differential. That car was all about driving and a new rumor claims that Porsche is looking to do the same thing with the Cayman.
A report claims that a 718 Cayman t is on the way and will go on sale next year. It will fit in the range between the Cayman S and Cayman GTS making it about $75,000. It would have a bit more than the 350hp the Cayman S gives and have performance updates standard. That would include larger wheels, sport exhaust, and sport chrono.
To shed weight the car would presumably use thinner glass, fabric door handles, and lighter sport seats. It might even ditch the radio to come in at about 90 pounds lighter than the Cayman S. There is no verification of this claim from Porsche at this time.
