Many potential buyers may consider Moto X to be an expensive smartphone but it seems as if everything is about to change. The prolific Twitter leaker, @evleaks posted a tweet earlier today mentioning that Moto X will see a price cut and will be available for $100 on contract by the end of this year. Secondly, the leaker also claims that the device will be available with wood back covers by the end of this year and will come with an additional $50 price tag.
This might change the mind of many people who are considering Moto X to be their next phone. Currently, the device is available via AT&T and Verizon and will set you back $199 on-contract. Many people consider it to be an overpriced device and I guess that’s the reason why Motorola and the carriers decided to cut its price. In case of the Moto Maker customizations, they are exclusively available on AT&T.

There were rumors circulating in the past that pointed out about the $50 price tag for the wooden back covers. Some people saw evidence of extra charge in Moto Maker website’s source code and found that it may cost users an extra $50 for premium customizations. This would increase the cost of Moto X to be $249 on-contract which is kind of expensive for most of us. However, if the rumor about the price cut is correct, I guess we can now think about purchasing the device with natural back covers.
If the price cut rumor is correct, will you go for a Moto X with a wooden back cover this Christmas?
