A new audiophile class speaker has been designed by USMNT Player and Product Designer Jay DeMerit, which are created using re-purposed wood once abandoned by logging operations.
Watch the video below to learn more about these unique speakers which are all individually unique thanks to their natural material casing. The Speakers are now available to back via Kickstarter with pledges starting from $199 and shipping expected to take place during May 2017.
Jay explains a little more about the design and inspiration for the Rockit Logs handcrafted speakers :
Rockit Logs are created from acoustic quality wood once abandoned by logging operations, then re-purposed into handcrafted works of visual and audio art by Jay DeMerit. A funky shape, knot, pattern or crooked grain means no two are alike.
Each Rockit Log has a story to tell: reclaimed from a neglected forest off-cut, left to rot in a pole yard, or part of a fallen tree in an old logging block. These Western Cedar, Fir and Hemlock trees are recovered in a beautiful valley along British Columbia’s Sea to Sky Corridor where logging is prevalent and much waste exists.
Proceeds from this campaign will be used to fund the initial hardware investment needed to mass produce the audio technology behind Rockit Logs. Upon fulfillment to our backers, going forward Rockit Logs will donate profits to the Rise & Shine Foundation which was founded during the first Kickstarter campaign that brought the documentary film to life at the request of fans everywhere.
