Raspberry Pi enthusiasts looking for a larger screen than the official 7-inch Raspberry Pi Foundation screen may be interested in a new 10.1-inch PCAP touch screen kit measuring 255 x 174 x 9mm, developed to work with the Raspberry Pi, by hardware manufacturer and distributor Inelco Hunter.
Specifically designed for industrial applications the touchscreen offers a WXGA wide angle resolution of 1280 x 800 with 16 million colours and is supplied preassembled to connect to the Raspberry Pi which can be mounted on the rear of the interface PCB using the supplied screws and spacer pillars. The Raspberry Pi screen requires 12V at 2A to drive the TFT display, touch panel and backlight, and 5V at 2A to power the Pi.
The touchscreen panel supports multi-touch input via pinch, zoom and rotate, and can be either USB or I2C connected if preferred. David Bushnell, managing director of Inelco Hunter explains more about the new Raspberry Pi display :
Since the launch of the official 7-inch Raspberry Pi display, we have had a lot of customers approach us requesting a larger screen format running from a Raspberry Pi but with the same quality industrial grade TFT and touch solution. So we designed this 10.1 inch kit to make it easier for customers to transition to the larger screen format.
