The Quant E-Sportlimousine have received approval in Europe, the vehicle is now road legal ahead of its official launch. The vehicle was unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and it comes with some new technology called the nanoFLOWCELL.
This new electric vehicle works in a different way to vehicles like the Tesla Model S, instead of using batteries to store energy, it uses tanks that have negative an positive electrolyte solutions, the liquids are then pumped through a cell stack and this produces electricity.
“This is a historic moment and a milestone not only for our company but perhaps even for the electro-mobility of the future. For the first time an automobile featuring flow-cell electric drive technology will appear on Germany’s roads. Today we have put the product of 14 years’ hard development work on the road. This is a moment for us to celebrate. We are extremely proud that as a small company we have developed such visionary technology as the nanoFLOWCELL® and are now also able to put it into practice. But this is only the beginning of our journey of discovery,” is Nunzio La Vecchia’s delighted comment on this important step in the development of the company.
The company claims that the Quant E-Sportlimousine is capable of a top speed of 218 MPH and will have a 0 to 62MPH time of just 2.8 seconds, the vehicle is said to have a range of 373 miles, plus an operating power of 643HP and peak power of 912 HP.
All these stats certainly do sound impressive, and we are looking forward to find out more details about this new electric vehicle, and also details on exactly how its power system works.
