We heard the other day that Apple has offered Proview a settlement in their iPad trademark case in China, and now it would appear that the offer made to Proview has been rejected.
According to a recent report, Apple have offered Proview a settlement which is worth around $16 million for the rights to the iPad trademark in China, but it looks like Proview has decided not to accept it.
Proview are apparently looking for a much higher settlement, which is reported to be in the region of $400 million, this would help Proview pay of its creditors and also the banks as the company is in financial trouble.
Whether or not Apple will end up paying the $400 million remains to be seen, it is quite a bit lower than the $2 billion that Proview wanted in their previous lawsuit, and certainly a lot more that then $50,000 plus that Apple paid for the Proview trademark from the company.
