Valves Portal 2 Summer Mapping Initiative has come to an end this week with the winners being selected. Out of 280 entries in the map design contest, the overall winner selected by the 13 judges was a map called “Patent Pending”. This map is a 30-minute level of intermediate difficulty with four chambers set in the destroyed Aperture Science facilities. The intricate design and challenging puzzles of “Patent Pending” captivated the judges, making it a standout among the numerous submissions.

Taking a close second place was “Infinifling,” which pits the player directly into a chamber filled with redirections. This map is known for its clever use of momentum and flinging mechanics, requiring players to think creatively to solve the puzzles. The complexity and innovative design of “Infinifling” made it a favorite among both the judges and the community.
