The new Porsche 718 Cayman GTS and 718 Boxster GTS were made official earlier today and we saw a quick video of the new 718 GTS models in action.
Porsche has now released a new video of the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS and 718 Boxster GTS as they go for a spin in Sicily, driven by Indy driver Dario Franchitti and baseball player turned race car driver CJ Wilson. Have a look at the video below.
Performance and Power
The new Porsche 718 Cayman GTS and 718 Boxster GTS get a number of upgrades over the standard cars, including external styling and, of course, more power. Both models are powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 361 horsepower. This engine is a significant upgrade from the standard models, providing a more exhilarating driving experience. The cars also come with Sport Chrono and a number of other performance enhancements as standard. These enhancements include a sport exhaust system, dynamic transmission mounts, and the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system, which lowers the car by 10mm for improved handling and stability.
The new 718 Cayman GTS and 718 Boxster GTS have a 0 to 62 miles per hour time of just 4.1 seconds, making them some of the fastest models in the 718 lineup. This impressive acceleration is complemented by a top speed of 180 miles per hour, ensuring that these cars are not just quick off the line but also capable of sustained high-speed performance.
Design and Features
In terms of design, the GTS models feature a number of distinctive elements that set them apart from the standard 718 models. These include a new front apron with a more aggressive look, black-tinted front lights, and black rear lights. The cars also come with 20-inch wheels painted in satin black, adding to their sporty appearance. Inside, the GTS models feature Alcantara upholstery on the seats, steering wheel, and center console, providing a luxurious yet sporty feel.
The infotainment system in the GTS models is also upgraded, featuring the latest version of Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with a high-resolution touchscreen. This system includes navigation, smartphone integration, and a premium sound system, ensuring that drivers and passengers stay connected and entertained on the road.
For those who want to take their GTS models to the track, Porsche offers a range of optional performance upgrades. These include carbon-ceramic brakes for improved stopping power, a sport suspension for even better handling, and a lightweight sports exhaust system for a more aggressive sound.
