A new 3D printer has launched overall Kickstarter which is being marketed as a 3D printer built by a family for families and is called the Poieo3D.
The Poieo3D is looking to raise $100,000 over its 49 day campaign to help make the jump from concept into manufacture. The 3D printer has been specifically designed to be easy to use and has a small footprint perfect for a desktop solution for your office, home or school.
“The Poieo3D Printer is not just a kids’ toy; it is a highly precise machine with advanced capabilities for the discriminating buyer. Make a personalized holder for your phone, a 3D keepsake of your child’s profile, repair things around your home. Print a holder for your GoPro Camera, make parts for your model airplane, or print unique and custom baking decorations and or cookie cutters. Make unique holiday gifts and decorations. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
The Poieo3D software slices a 3D image file into thin layers and physically builds it up by printing one layer at a time out of plastic. Think of it like you’re making a loaf of bread by placing individual slices, one on top of another, in correct order to form its shape. Each slice is only as thin as a piece of paper so very fine detailed is captured.”
