Anyone in the market for a new pair of cans to take with them on their travels, might be interested to know that Pioneer has this week take the wraps off a new line of foldable headphones that might well be worth more investigation. There are two sets in the range the SE-NC21M priced at £90 and the flagship Pioneer SE-MJ591 headphones, which are priced at around £200.
The more expensive Pioneer SE-MJ591 headphones are constructed from high-grade of aluminium, and are equipped with “high quality” 40mm drivers, designed to replicate excellent detail on high frequencies, says Pioneer.
“The SE-MJ591 features high-quality construction with metal components and ultra-soft ear pads and headband for the ultimate comfort during longer listening periods. The headphones are intended to match the sound quality of high-end audio systems, making them the ideal accessory for serious listeners looking for high-end audio performance, both at home and on-the-go.”
The cheaper SE-NC21M headphone are equipped with active noise-cancelling technology, which Pioneer says will block out block out 90 percent of ambient noise. They are equipped with 30mm drivers ad also foldable to be easily transported.
“The headphones feature lightweight construction for comfort during longer listening periods. Battery life is up to 120 hours of noise cancelation using a single AAA battery. The SE-NC21M will also continue to function as traditional headphones if the battery dies mid-use.”
