Pandora the Internet radio service, has today announced the launch of a new Pandora HTML 5 app, which has been created to enable the company to expand on to Smart TVs and onto games consoles.
The launch of the new Pandora HTML 5 application will help it compete with the likes of Spotify and others and has been optimised for a 10 foot away experience.
The new Pandora HTML 5 app features easy navigation with controls and displays designed specifically for the big screen together with the ability to personalise radio stations, create new ones and browse more than 500 curated genre stations.
As well as offering the standard play, pause, skip and the ability to thumb-up and thumb-down tracks is easily accessible through the designated controller. Pandora Chief Technology Officer and EVP of Product, Tom Conrad explained in todays press release:
