The other day we heard about a problem that a OnePlus 5 owner had when they dialed 911, their handset decided to reboot and we saw this in a video.
OnePlus just contacted us to let us know that the issue has now been resolved and they have released a software update for the handset in question.
Here is a statement from OnePlus on the issue:
We have been in touch with the customer and have tested a software update that has resolved the issue.
We will be rolling out the software update shortly.
The person who had the original problem has also updated his original thread on Reddit confirming the update, you can see what he had to say below.
UPDATE: After talking with OnePlus and sharing my log files which included the issue, the OnePlus Tech team was able to send me a test update and the 911 bug has been fixed! The fix they shared with me is only for my phone but they will be using it as a template either for OTA updates or to send the fix to people who are also having the same problem. In short: PROBLEM FIXED!
OnePlus have also said that they will be rolling out a software update shortly, we presume this will fix the potential issue on any other handsets. It is good to see that OnePlus got the issue resolved so quickly.
Updated 20th July 2017:
OnePlus has now started to roll out the update for the handset, full details here.
