We have been hearing lots of rumors about the new OnePlus smartphone and now some of the handset’s specifications have been confirmed by a TENAA listing. TENAA is the Chinese equivalent of the FCC.
Display and Design
The OnePlus 6 will come with a 6.28-inch display featuring a Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. This display will have a 19:9 aspect ratio, which is slightly taller than the traditional 18:9 aspect ratio found in many smartphones. The inclusion of a notch at the top of the display is a design choice that allows for a larger screen area while accommodating the front-facing camera and other sensors. This design trend has been popularized by other flagship smartphones and is aimed at providing a more immersive viewing experience.
Performance and Storage
Under the hood, the handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which is one of the most powerful processors available in the market. This chipset is known for its efficiency and high performance, making it ideal for multitasking, gaming, and other demanding applications. The OnePlus 6 will come in two variants: one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and another with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This ensures that users have ample memory and storage options to choose from, depending on their needs.
Camera Capabilities
One of the specifications that we did not have the exact details on was the cameras. The OnePlus 6 will feature a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, which is perfect for video calls and selfies. The front camera is expected to come with various enhancements and features such as portrait mode, beauty mode, and possibly even facial recognition for unlocking the device.
On the back of the handset, there will be a dual-camera setup. This setup includes one 16-megapixel camera and one 20-megapixel camera. The dual-camera system is designed to offer improved photo quality, better low-light performance, and enhanced depth-of-field effects. Features like optical image stabilization (OIS), electronic image stabilization (EIS), and 4K video recording are also expected to be part of the camera capabilities, making it a versatile tool for photography enthusiasts.
Additional Features
In addition to the core specifications, the OnePlus 6 is expected to come with a range of additional features that enhance the overall user experience. These may include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick and secure unlocking, face unlock technology, and a large battery with fast charging support. The device is also likely to run on OxygenOS, which is OnePlus’s custom skin based on Android, offering a clean and smooth user interface with various customization options.
The OnePlus 6 is also expected to support various connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. This ensures that users can stay connected and enjoy high-speed internet, seamless wireless connections, and convenient mobile payments.
Overall, the OnePlus 6 is shaping up to be a powerful and feature-rich smartphone that caters to a wide range of users. With its high-resolution display, powerful processor, ample memory and storage options, and advanced camera capabilities, it is poised to compete with other flagship smartphones in the market. The additional features and enhancements further add to its appeal, making it a compelling choice for anyone looking for a high-performance smartphone.
