OCZ Technology has announced the launch of a new SSD called the Agility 4. The SSD is a 2.5-inch unit that uses the 6 Gbps interface and promises quick operation and reliability. The new SSD uses the Indilinx Everest 2 controller, which features special methods of wear leveling to extend the life of the chips inside the SSD.
The drive will be offered in 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB versions. Pricing is up to around $600 online for the largest versions. The larger versions of the SSD promises sequential read speeds of 400 MB/s and sequential writes of the same speed.
Smaller versions of the drive have sequential reads in the 300 MB/s to 400 MB/s range with sequential writes of 200 MB/s to 300 MB/s. The SSDs are available online right now.
