Nvidia first unveiled their new Project Shield handheld gaming console back at CES earlier this year, and since then has released a number of demonstration videos showing the power of their new portable Project Shield gaming console.
Last week Nvidia revealed Borderlands 2 playing on their Project Shield console, and this week has released a video showing Real Boxing in action on the console. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.
Technical Specifications and Features
Nvidia’s Project Shield is equipped with a 72-core NVIDIA GeForce GPU Quad-core A15 processor and has been designed as a pure Android device, capable of playing both Android and PC games. This powerful combination ensures that the console can handle high-definition graphics and complex gameplay with ease. The device also features a 5-inch 720p retinal multi-touch display, providing gamers with a crisp and clear visual experience. Additionally, Project Shield includes a built-in controller with dual analog sticks, a D-pad, and a full set of buttons, making it feel like a traditional gaming console in a portable form.
“With the unveiling of Project SHIELD portable– winner of numerous awards at this year’s CES – we’ve ushered in a new breed of gaming. Real Boxing has been finely tuned for Project SHIELD’s console-grade controller – delivering ultimate control to the player. And the unique multi-screen gaming feature gives your ringside friends a new way to share in the experience.”
Gaming Experience and Versatility
Real Boxing on the new Nvidia Project Shield allows you to play an extensive career mode with over 20 opponents, each with their own fighting style. The game leverages the console’s advanced hardware to deliver realistic graphics and fluid animations, making each punch and movement feel lifelike. The tactile feedback from the controller enhances the immersive experience, allowing players to feel every hit and dodge.
Moreover, Project Shield’s versatility extends beyond just playing Android games. One of its standout features is the ability to stream PC games from a GeForce GTX-powered computer. This means that gamers can enjoy their favorite PC titles on a portable device without compromising on performance or graphics quality. For instance, games like Borderlands 2 and Skyrim can be played seamlessly on Project Shield, providing a console-like experience on the go.
The device also supports cloud gaming services, allowing users to access a vast library of games without the need for physical media. This feature is particularly beneficial for gamers who prefer digital downloads and want to save space on their device.
In addition to gaming, Project Shield offers a range of multimedia capabilities. Users can stream movies, music, and other content from popular services like Netflix, Hulu, and Spotify. The device’s high-quality speakers and audio output ensure that the multimedia experience is just as impressive as the gaming one.
Overall, Nvidia’s Project Shield represents a significant advancement in handheld gaming technology. Its powerful hardware, versatile gaming options, and multimedia capabilities make it a compelling choice for gamers looking for a portable yet powerful gaming solution. As Nvidia continues to release more demonstration videos and updates, it will be exciting to see how Project Shield evolves and what new features and games will be introduced in the future.
