Nokia sold its mobile phone business to Microsoft, the company can not release any new smartphones under the Nokia brand for the next 10 years, although according to a recent report, the company is working on a new Android smartphone.
The deal with Microsoft doesn’t stop Nokia from designing new devices, it just stops the company from releasing the devices under the Nokia brand.
According to a recent report from My Drivers, Nokia is working on a new flagship Android smartphone, the team that developed the Nokia N9 handset are apparently working on the new device, the Nokia N9 (pictured above) ran the company’s MeeGo OS.
Before the takeover by Microsoft, Nokia released a number of Android devices, like the Nokia X, Nokia XL and the XL+, this new device will apparently be released under a different brand name.
As yet there are no details on exactly whats the company’s plans are for this new flagship Android smartphone, and also no details on which brand name the device will be released under.
As soon as we get some more information on exactly what Nokia has planned for this new Android device, we will let you guys know.
