It looks like the new Nokia Android smartphones from HMD Global are becoming popular, according to a recent report Nokia sold more smartphones that HTC, Sony, Google, OnePlus and more companies in the fourth quarter of 2017.
The news comes from analyst Neil Shah at Counterproint who has revealed that Nokia sold a total of 4.4 million smartphones in quarter four of 2017.
This means that it sold more handsets individually than the following companies:
- HTC
- Sony
- Alcatel
- Lenovo
- OnePlus
- Gionee
- Meizu
- Coolpad
- Asus
Nokia is a strong brand that used to be the world’s largest mobile phone maker before smartphones came along, so you can see why it would become popular again. HMD also appears to be doing a good job with the design of the new Nokia devices and also their specifications.
This apparently puts Nokia at number 11 in the smartphone sales list and gives it a 1 percent share. The company is launchign a range of new devices at Mobile World Congress later this month and this should help it increase it market share.
