We have been hearing over the last week or so that the new Nokia Lumia 900 would be coming to AT&T between the 8th and 9th of April, although this was not confirmed by AT&T until now.
Whilst there is no official press release out yet, AT&T have confirmed to Cnet that the Nokia Lumia 900 will be available in stores and online from the 8th of April.
The Lumia 900 will be available for $99.99 when you sign up to a new two-year contract with the carrier and it features a single core 1.4GHz processor, plus a 4.3 inch AMOLED ClearBlack touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
Specifications and Features
Other specifications on the handset include Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, which offers a smooth and user-friendly interface. The Lumia 900 also comes with a front-facing 1 megapixel camera, ideal for video calls and selfies. The rear-facing 8 megapixel camera is equipped with a Carl Zeiss lens, ensuring high-quality photos and videos. Additionally, the device includes 16GB of built-in storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, and media files.
Connectivity options are robust, featuring WiFi for internet access and 4G LTE for fast mobile data speeds. This makes the Lumia 900 a versatile device suitable for both personal and professional use. The phone also supports Bluetooth, allowing for easy pairing with other devices such as headphones and speakers.
Design and Build Quality
The Nokia Lumia 900 boasts a sleek and modern design, with a polycarbonate unibody that feels sturdy and premium in hand. The 4.3-inch AMOLED ClearBlack display not only offers vibrant colors and deep blacks but also performs well under direct sunlight, making it easy to use outdoors. The device is available in several color options, including black, cyan, and white, catering to different aesthetic preferences.
The Lumia 900’s design is not just about looks; it is also highly functional. The placement of buttons and ports is intuitive, ensuring that users can easily access all features without any hassle. The phone’s ergonomic design ensures that it is comfortable to hold and use for extended periods.
Performance and User Experience
Powered by a single-core 1.4GHz processor, the Lumia 900 delivers reliable performance for everyday tasks such as browsing the web, checking emails, and using social media apps. While it may not compete with the latest multi-core processors, it is more than capable of handling the needs of most users.
The Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system enhances the user experience with its intuitive tile-based interface. Users can customize their home screen with live tiles that provide real-time updates, making it easy to stay informed and connected. The OS also includes a range of built-in apps and services, such as Microsoft Office Mobile, which allows users to view and edit documents on the go.
Battery Life and Additional Features
Battery life is another strong point of the Lumia 900. The device is equipped with a 1830mAh battery, which provides enough power to last through a full day of moderate use. This includes activities such as browsing the web, streaming music, and making calls. For users who require even more battery life, the phone’s power-saving features can help extend usage time.
Additional features of the Lumia 900 include GPS for navigation, an FM radio for listening to music and news, and various sensors such as an accelerometer and proximity sensor. These features add to the overall versatility and functionality of the device.
The Nokia Lumia 900 is a well-rounded smartphone that offers a good balance of performance, design, and features. With its affordable price point of $99.99 on a two-year contract, it presents a compelling option for those looking for a reliable and stylish device.
