Yesterday we heard that the rumored Nokia 800, which is said to share a similar design to the Nokia N9, would be called the Nokia Lumia 800, and now it looks like Nokia will also unveil another Windows Phone smartphone at today’s Nokia World which takes place in London.
The other Windows Phone smartphone from Nokia will be called the Nokia Lumia 710, which was previously known as the Nokia Sabre, and both devices are expected to be available in Europe from next month.
The photo below was obtained by the guys from Win Rumors, and it clearly shows the two Nokia Windows Phone devices as the Nokia Lumia 800 and the Nokia Lumia 710.
Nokia Lumia 800: A Closer Look
The Nokia Lumia 800 is expected to be a flagship device for Nokia, marking its first foray into the Windows Phone ecosystem. The design of the Lumia 800 is heavily inspired by the Nokia N9, featuring a sleek, polycarbonate unibody that is both stylish and durable. The device is rumored to come with a 3.7-inch AMOLED display, which promises vibrant colors and deep blacks, making it ideal for multimedia consumption.
Under the hood, the Lumia 800 is expected to be powered by a 1.4 GHz single-core processor, coupled with 512MB of RAM. While these specs might seem modest by today’s standards, they are more than sufficient for the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system, which is known for its smooth performance and efficient use of resources. The device is also expected to feature an 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, ensuring high-quality photos and videos.
Nokia Lumia 710: The Affordable Alternative
The Nokia Lumia 710, on the other hand, is aimed at the mid-range market. Previously known as the Nokia Sabre, this device is expected to offer a more affordable entry point into the Windows Phone ecosystem. The Lumia 710 is rumored to come with a 3.7-inch TFT display, which, while not as vibrant as the AMOLED display on the Lumia 800, still offers a good viewing experience.
In terms of hardware, the Lumia 710 is expected to be powered by the same 1.4 GHz single-core processor found in the Lumia 800, but with a slightly lower RAM capacity of 256MB. This should still provide a smooth user experience, especially given the optimized nature of the Windows Phone operating system. The camera on the Lumia 710 is expected to be a 5-megapixel shooter, which should be adequate for everyday photography needs.
Both devices are expected to come with a range of connectivity options, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. They will also feature Nokia’s suite of exclusive apps, such as Nokia Drive for turn-by-turn navigation and Nokia Music for streaming music.
We should have some specifications on both devices later today when they are officially unveiled by Nokia.
