Yesterday, Nokia announced their first budget Windows Phone smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 610, and we now have some details on the UK pricing of the Lumia 610. It will retail for £165 SIM free.
According to an email we just received, the SIM-free version of the Nokia Lumia 610 will be available in the UK from the 14th of May 2012.
Key Features and Specifications
As a reminder, the Nokia Lumia 610 features a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive LCD touchscreen display which has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. This makes it suitable for viewing photos, browsing the web, and using apps with decent clarity and color reproduction. The device also comes with a single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 800MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage. While the processor and RAM might seem modest by today’s standards, they were quite adequate for basic smartphone tasks at the time of release.
The Nokia Lumia 610 is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera that includes auto-focus and an LED flash. This camera setup allows users to capture decent quality photos and videos, making it a good option for casual photography. The device is powered by a 1300 mAh battery, which should provide enough juice for a full day of moderate use.
Software and User Experience
The Lumia 610 runs on Windows Phone 7.5, also known as Mango. This operating system offers a unique user interface with live tiles that update in real-time, providing users with quick access to their most important information and apps. Windows Phone 7.5 also includes features like People Hub, which integrates contacts from various social networks, and Office Hub, which allows users to view and edit Microsoft Office documents on the go.
One of the standout features of the Lumia 610 is its integration with Nokia’s suite of apps, including Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive. These apps provide users with reliable navigation and mapping services, which are particularly useful for those who travel frequently. Additionally, the device supports a range of third-party apps available from the Windows Phone Marketplace, allowing users to customize their experience with games, productivity tools, and more.
The Lumia 610 also includes support for various connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. This ensures that users can stay connected and navigate their surroundings with ease. The device’s design is sleek and compact, making it comfortable to hold and use with one hand.
We don’t yet have any pricing information on any of the mobile carriers, but the SIM-free price of £165 makes it an attractive option for those looking for an affordable smartphone without being tied to a contract.
In summary, the Nokia Lumia 610 offers a solid set of features for its price point, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious consumers. Its combination of a decent display, adequate performance, and useful software features make it a compelling option in the budget smartphone market.
