We have an interesting piece of news for Nokia Lumia users. The company mentioned that Nokia Amber update will bring Bluetooth 4.0 support for selected Lumia devices, including support for Bluetooth Low Energy. This low energy technology will allow handsets to connect to compatible devices such as heart rate monitors and other fitness devices.
The Bluetooth Low Energy feature will be available on Lumia 520, Lumia 620 and Lumia 720 devices. This is not just the only feature. At a blog event in Hong Kong, the Finnish also mentioned that the update will improve the camera performance of Lumia 920, it will improve the sharpness of pictures as well as improve the color temperature of photos, improve focusing times, keep the photos in the gallery sharp even when zooming in and improved battery life. Other notable features include FM radio, Smart Camera Lens and a number of other bug fixes and improvements.
However, we are not sure if the Bluetooth 4.0 will be released for Lumia 92x models or not.
The update is expected to hit the devices sometime in August. The company earlier revealed this information via Twitter which was a sign of relief for many Lumia owners. The only thing the company failed to release is the exact date of release, but if they say its August we should believe it and just wait for a notification to popup on our handsets.
