Following on from yesterdays leaked images of the Android powered Coolpix S800c, Nikon has today officially unveiled their new compact camera to the world.
The Nikon Coolpix S800c is equipped with a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor, a 10x zoom lens ranging from 25-250mm, together with support for capturing 1080p video with stereo sound.
Nikon have also added a 3.5 inch touchscreen display to the rear of the Coolpix S800c camera, that allows you to navigate the Android OS and download and install applications from the Google Play store. Nicolas Gillet, Product Manager for Consumer Products at Nikon Europe, explains:
“The COOLPIX S800c is the camera that loves your social life as much as you do. You can record Full HD movies and take superb pictures, even in low light such as at a party. As soon as you have something you want to share with friends, you simply tap the screen to upload to Facebook, Twitter or other social media sites or online albums and watch the positive comments come flooding in.”
Other features of the Nikon Coolpix S800c camera include motion blur detection, easy panorama 360°/180° mode, continuous mode at a fast 8.1 fps, and an internal memory of 1.7GB to store photographs. The Nikon Coolpix S800c will soon be available for around $350 in silver, red, white, black, and comes with Android 2.3 operating system installed.
