We just heard about the new Porsche 935, which is a limited edition track-only car based on the 911 GT2 RS.
Now we have a video of the new Porsche 935. Just 77 examples of this new track-only race car will be made. Have a look at the video below.
Design and Heritage
Many details of the exterior are a salute to winning vehicles from the company’s motor racing history. The aerodynamically capped rims echo those of the 935/78, a car that earned the nickname “Moby Dick” due to its elongated shape and white color. The LED rear lights on the rear wing endplates are adopted from the 919 Hybrid LMP1 race car, which has seen significant success in endurance racing, including multiple victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The side mirrors hail from the current Le Mans-winning 911 RSR, ensuring that the car not only looks the part but also benefits from the latest in aerodynamic efficiency. The exposed titanium tailpipes are modeled on the Porsche 908 from 1968, another iconic race car that left its mark in motorsport history.
Performance and Specifications
Under the hood, the Porsche 935 is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine, the same powerhouse found in the 911 GT2 RS. This engine produces a staggering 700 horsepower, making the 935 a formidable machine on the track. The car also features a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, ensuring rapid gear changes and optimal performance. The extensive use of lightweight materials, including carbon fiber, helps keep the weight down, enhancing the car’s agility and handling.
The Porsche 935 is equipped with state-of-the-art racing technology, including a full roll cage, a racing bucket seat with a six-point harness, and a Cosworth ICD display that provides the driver with all essential information at a glance. The car also features a sophisticated aerodynamics package, including a massive rear wing and a front splitter, which work together to provide exceptional downforce and stability at high speeds.
There are no details on how much this new limited edition Porsche 935 will cost, although they are all probably sold. Given the exclusivity and the heritage associated with this model, it is expected that the price would be significantly higher than the standard 911 GT2 RS, which itself is a high-end performance car.
