Garmin is expanding further into the fitness tracking market this month with the launch of its new GPS watch in the form of the Garmin Forerunner 15, which comes equipped with a variety of fitness tracking features for users to enjoy as well as the GPS navigation features you would expect from Garmin.
The Garmin Forerunner 15 watch is not the first fitness tracking device Garmin have created and follows in the footsteps of the recently launched Garmin Vivofit fitness tracking bracelet, that was released earlier this year and is available to purchase for around £100 in the UK.
The new Garmin Forerunner 15 watch has been designed to offer users a battery life of five weeks when used as a watch and activity tracker. However this is cut down considerably to just eight hours when the device is used as a GPS watch.
Other features of the new Garmin Forerunner 15 watch include outdoor running features and an optional foot pod is available to track your activity when using a treadmill. The Forerunner 15 is also water resistant up to 50 m and will be available in a range of colours and sizes as you can see into e photo above.
When the Garmin Forerunner 15 watch launches in the next couple of weeks it will be available to purchase for around $170 for just the GPS watch and fitness tracker, or priced at $200 when bundled with a heart rate monitor, that has been designed for uses to strap to their chest.
