Ahead of the E3 2018 games conference which starts in a few days time Alienware has unveiled its first gaming headset since 2009, announcing the imminent launch of the Alienware Wireless Headset which offers gamers 7.1 virtual surround sound with what the company and “deep, rich bass”. The Alienware Wireless Headset will be available to purchase worldwide from June 11th 2018 priced at $229.
As you would expect the new headset is equipped with the AlienFX lighting system which offers lighting effects for currently more than 160 games. Depending on your preferences with the lighting effect switched off the headset can provide up to 15 hours of gameplay or 8 hours if the AlienFX are enabled Offering the ability to choose from 6.8 million colours matching your gaming PC and other desktop peripherals precisely.
The Alienware Wireless Headset AW988 is equipped with technology that utilises the 2.4GHz band equalling most other wireless headsets and the USB dongle can be safely stored within the headset when not in use and during transportation. Dell has equipped the wireless headset with high fidelity 40mm neodymium drivers offering a frequency response of 20Hz to 20KHz, together with a noise cancelling microphone that can be swivelled, stored and muted when not required.
