Not too long ago, we heard a rumor that HTC is working on a new handset which will come with Windows Phone 8.1 as its operating system. There’s now word about the launch, but rumors suggest we may see a WP8.1 powered version of the HTC One M8.
Recently, an alleged HTC devices received WiFi certification, with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 as its operating system.
The device comes with a model number HTC6995LVW, which was teased by AdDuplex’s Alan Mendelevich in a teaser as well. It was also revealed that the device spotted in the AdDuplex’s results came with 5-inch display sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. So there’s a decent probability that we may get to see a Windows Phone version of the HTC One M8.
We’ve seen rumors in the past as well, suggesting that HTC will launch a Windows Phone device which will come with the Duo cameras as well as BoomSound speakers on the back.
There’s no official word from HTC about the existence of any such device, but the Taiwanese OEM is one of the Windows Phone hardware partners. It’s been a while since the company released a WP handset, but it seems they may come back with a bang.
