MSI has added another tiny PC to their growing range of Nettop’s and Netbooks, the MSI C120 Nettop PC.
The MSI C120 features an Intel Atom 230 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. There are also two front USB 2.0 ports and a 4-in-1 card reader, making it a versatile and compact solution for everyday computing needs.
Comprehensive Connectivity and Audio Features
The MSI C120 is equipped with 7.1 audio, providing a rich and immersive sound experience, which is quite impressive for a nettop of this size. Additionally, it includes four USB 2.0 ports on the back, Ethernet, and WiFi capabilities. Unfortunately, there is no HDMI out, only VGA, and according to MSI, this cannot be converted to HDMI with an adapter, which seems a little strange given the increasing prevalence of HDMI in modern displays and TVs.

The Intel Atom 230 processor, while not the most powerful, is sufficient for basic tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and media playback. The 1GB of RAM is on the lower side by today’s standards, but it should be adequate for running Windows XP Home and performing light multitasking. The 160GB hard drive provides ample storage for documents, media files, and software applications.
The inclusion of a slot-in DVD Super Multi drive is a nice touch, allowing users to read and write CDs and DVDs. This can be particularly useful for installing software, backing up data, or watching movies.
The MSI C120 operates at a full speed with only 35W power consumption, making it an energy-efficient choice. Its low acoustics and thermal output, averaging 30dB, ensure that it runs quietly, which is ideal for use in a home office or living room environment.
The compact design of the MSI C120, with a space-saving footprint of less than 5 litres, allows it to fit easily into tight spaces. Users have the option to position it vertically or horizontally, depending on their preference and available space.
The MSI CS120 is available now for around $299, making it an affordable option for those looking for a compact and efficient PC for everyday use.
