MOTU has announced a new addition to their range this week in the form of their new Microbook II, which has been design to build on their original device. The MOTU Microbook II has been designed to provide a compact, studio-grade audio interface that converts any Mac or PC into a personal 4 x 6 recording studio, complete with professional I/O and monitor mixing.
Measuring just 5.5 x 3.5 x 1.25 inches the mini MOTU Microbook II is equipped with USB 2.0 audio Mac and Windows interface for low-latency performance, 6 x simultaneous outputs, 1 x XLR mic input, and support for 96 kHz recording and playback.
Using the connections you can use mics (XLR), guitars, keyboards and powered speakers, and the MicroBook II connects to your computer of choice via USB 2.0. Its fitted with on-board volume controls, and all four inputs can be recorded simultaneously while internal CueMix tech allows for a unique stereo mix for each output pair. MOTU Marketing Director Jim Cooper explains:
“For discriminating users who insist on the very best audio quality, MicroBook II delivers unmatched performance for compact, personal recording,” – “Plug in a mic, guitar, keyboard, and powered speakers, then enjoy sound quality that rivals other audio interfaces in the six to eight hundred dollar range.”
The MicroBook II will start shipping in next couple of months, and will replace the original model at the same price of $269.
