Moto G Google Play Edition is already getting the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, but it seems Motorola is rolling out the latest update for its handsets in other regions as well.
If you’re based in India, rocking a Moto G, Moto E or a Moto X, you may want to check if there’s any update notification. Motorola India announced that it’s rolling out the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for the abovementioned handsets.
“We’ve begun rolling out Android, KitKat, 4.4.4 for Moto E, Moto G & Moto X this week in India! Expect an update on your #Moto soon!” Motorola India said on Twitter.
While everyone is talking about the Android 5.0 L, it’s not coming until later this year, possibly when Google releases a new Nexus device. And even when it does, it’s going to take a few months for the update to roll out for existing devices, except the Nexus line up.
As for Android 4.4.4, it’s not an update that brings new features on board, but focuses more on improvements and bug fixes, with the most notable one being the OpenSSL bug fix.
You should wait for the OTA to arrive for your handset which can take a few days. You can also check for the update manually by going to the Settings app on your device.
