Variety is this week reporting that following on from the launch of the Monster Hunter World video game earlier this year, which attracted millions of new players to the genre and made the game one of Capcom’s fastest selling games ever, has prompted the production of a Monster Hunter movie with a $60 million budget.
Rumours have been circulating for some time that a Monster Hunter movie was under development, but now things seem to be moving forward with production set to begin during September 2018 with a possible movie premiere date during 2019.
The variety website explains that filming for the new Monster Hunter movie will take place at Cape Town in South Africa, and special effects will be supplied by the Mr. X SFX team who are also responsible for creating the special effects within the Resident Evil series of films. The Monster Hunter movie will also star Milla Jovovich but for now very little else else is known. As soon as a trailers, media or more details on the storyline, characters and actors you can expect in the 2019 Monster Hunter movie are announced, leaked or released we will keep you up-to-date as always.
