Modbook has been transforming Apple Macbook Pro laptops into touchscreen tablets for quite some time but for their latest creation the Modbook Pro X the company has taken to the Kickstarter crowd funding website.
The Modbook Pro X will transform a 15.4 inch Retina Quad-Core Mac laptop into an OS X Tablet offering a display with a 2,880 x 1,800 pixel resolution at 220 pixels per inch. Together with a digitiser pen offering users a massive 2,048 pressure levels.
The Modbook Pro X tablet can be powered by up to a 2.8GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, integrated Intel Iris Pro Graphics with an optional NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M GPU, and up to 32GB of 1600MHz random-access memory. Check out the video below to learn more bout the transformation process.
The transformation process can either use your own Macbook Pro laptop or Modbook can purchase and provide the hardware for you. Other features of the digitiser pen with the system include tilt and rotate functionality, programmable dual side-switches, a digital eraser and replacement nib set. Its creators explain a little more about the OS X tablets design.

It works like this: an original Apple MacBook Pro base system is disassembled and then reassembled with our enclosure conversion kit, transforming a 15.4-inch Retina-display MacBook Pro notebook-style computer into a 15.4-inch pen tablet-style Modbook Pro X.”
