Microsoft released its latest financial results yesterday, and the company also broke down those results into some of their hardware devices that they sell, which included the Microsoft Surface.
Microsoft has managed to more than double their revenue from their Microsoft Surface tablets from this time last year, with total sales of $908 million, this compares to $400 million for the same time last year.
Microsoft recently launched their new Surface Pro 3 tablet, and the launch of this device has helped the company increase their tablet sales.
The company also revealed that they have managed to grow their game console sales significantly, with a 102 percent rise on sales of their Xbox consoles to 2.4 million units.
“Customers are embracing our latest technologies from Surface Pro 3 and Office 365 to Azure and SQL Server,” Microsoft chief operating officer Kevin Turner said in a statement. “Through great execution by our sales teams and our partners, we have been able to deliver our truly differentiated value to the marketplace.”
Microsoft also revealed information on sales if their Windows Phone handset, the company sold a total of 9.3 million Lumia smartphones, which is up from 8.8 million for the same quarter last year.
