Microsoft has announced on Twitter that since the release of their new Windows Phone 8 platform, the number of applications downloads from their Windows Phone store has increased by 100 percent.
Microsoft also announced that their developer revenue has also increased by 100 percent since the launch of Windows Phone 8, although they did not give an specific details about revenue paid to developers or the total number of downloads.

Windows Phone 8 seems to bee an improvement for Microsoft over the previous version of Windows Phone, in terms of handset sales and also application downloads.
It will be interesting to see if Microsoft have done enough with Windows Phone 8 to compete with the likes of Google and Apple and their increasingly popular mobile platforms.
