As Microsoft prepares for the highly anticipated launch of its new Windows 10 operating system the company has taken time to release yet another build before the final release is made available worldwide.
The latest Windows 10 release takes the form of build 10240 and is now available to download, and as you might have already expected Microsoft will continue to update Windows 10 long after the final retail version has been released on July 29th 2015.
Microsoft explains more about the final stages of development before launch.
The Edge team has been continuing to optimize performance since first adding the new browser to Windows 10. In this build, Microsoft Edge is even better and is beating Chrome and Safari on their own JavaScript benchmarks:
• On WebKit Sunspider, Edge is 112% faster than Chrome
• On Google Octane, Edge is 11% faster than Chrome
• On Apple JetStream, Edge is 37% faster than ChromeWe’re really pleased with those performance gains and we hope that you’ll enjoy faster browsing with Microsoft Edge along with the many great features we’ve added over the last several builds. This build is the latest Windows 10 build, and we’ll continue to update Windows 10 code as we head toward launch and beyond. We are embracing a new way to deliver Windows.
