Microsoft [MSFT] has officially unveiled their Arc Touch Mouse that we told you about previously. The Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse is just 15mm thick and it runs off a pair of AAA batteries.
The mouse features Microsoft’s Advanced Blue Track Technology for “maximum precision on virtually any surface” and is 2.4 GHz wireless via a nano receiver.
After much anticipation, we are excited to announce the Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse! You might have seen the teases we shared on Twitter – we were trying to get you thinking about things that were flat and when you see this mouse you’ll know why. Some of the creative responses we got surprised us!
Design and Features
The Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse stands out with its unique design that combines both form and function. Unlike traditional mice, the Arc Touch Mouse can be flattened for easy portability, making it an ideal companion for travelers and professionals on the go. When in use, the mouse arches to fit comfortably in your hand, providing ergonomic support.
One of the most innovative features of the Arc Touch Mouse is its touch-sensitive strip, which replaces the traditional scroll wheel. This strip allows for smooth and precise scrolling, and it even provides haptic feedback to simulate the feel of a physical scroll wheel. This feature not only enhances the user experience but also adds a modern touch to the device.
The mouse also includes a small nano receiver that can be stored magnetically on the underside of the mouse when not in use. This ensures that you won’t lose the receiver and makes it easy to pack the mouse away without any loose parts.
Performance and Usability
The Advanced Blue Track Technology incorporated in the Arc Touch Mouse allows it to work on a variety of surfaces, including wood, granite, and carpet. This makes it incredibly versatile and reliable, whether you’re working at a desk, in a coffee shop, or even on your living room floor. The 2.4 GHz wireless connection ensures a stable and responsive performance, with a range of up to 30 feet.
Battery life is another strong point for the Arc Touch Mouse. Running on two AAA batteries, the mouse can last for up to six months on a single set of batteries, depending on usage. This long battery life means you won’t have to worry about frequent battery changes, adding to the convenience of the device.
You can find out more details about the new Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse over at the Microsoft Hardware Blog. The Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse is available to pre-order from a number of online retailers and it will start shipping in December.
In summary, the Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse is a blend of innovative design and advanced technology. Its unique form factor, touch-sensitive strip, and versatile performance make it a standout choice for anyone in need of a reliable and stylish mouse. Whether you’re a frequent traveler, a professional, or just someone who appreciates good design, the Arc Touch Mouse is worth considering.
