HP has partnered with designer Michael Bastian to create their offering for the smartwatch market which takes the form of the new MB Chronowing that allows you to see notifications via a Bluetooth connection to your smartphone.
The MB Chronowing will be launching later this week on November 7th 2014 and will be available to purchase in two versions. As either a basic stainless steel watch fitted with a leather, rubber and nylon strap options. Or a $649 model that is equipped with sapphire crystal glass together with a black outer casing and finished with an alligator strap.
Specifications for the watch include an LCD display which unfortunately is not touchscreen but will display notifications for messages, incoming calls, calendar notifications, stock prices, and the weather to name a few.
The new MB Chronowing smartwatch is compatible with both Google Android devices running version 4.3 and above as well as Apple iOS smartphones and tablets and is water resistant up to 5 ATM 50m or 165ft. Designer Michael Bastian explains a little more about the new smartwatch :
“How many times have you been in a lunch and someone keeps checking their phone?”- “intended to make you more polite,”-“your phone isn’t dictating which watch you can wear,”-“that’s the thing you’re going to use 99% of the time,”.
