Mercedes have revealed their latest concept car, the Mercedes Vision G-Code concept which is an SUV and a sports coupe in one, as Mercedes calls it, an SUC or sport utility coupe.
The Mercedes Vision G-Code comes with some interesting features, like multi-voltaic silver paint that turns the cars exterior into a giant solar panel, this is then used to power the electric engine of the vehicle.

The G-Code concept vehicle is a prime example of this strategy: it interprets the current design idiom of sensual purity from the perspective of the Mercedes-Benz advanced designers in Beijing and Sindelfingen. The combination of emotion and intelligence conveys modern luxury in a compact form. As a result, the G-Code is also a perfect fit for today’s understanding of design in China. “The G-Code is both beautiful and intelligent, and interprets our typical Mercedes Coupé design idiom,” says Gorden Wagener, Head of Design of Daimler AG. A coupé-like side line, a dynamically flowing greenhouse and extremely sporty proportions immediately catch the eye.

The concept car also comes with a front mounted turbocharges combustion engine that is powered by hydrogen and drives the front wheels only.
There is an electric motor located at the back of the vehicle and this powers the rear wheels, there is also a dual multi disc clutch.
As yet there are no details on whether the Mercedes Vision G-Code will ever go into production, although we suspect that some of its technology will be used in future vehicles.
