Casey Hudson who until August of this year was the Mass Effect Director and celebrated video game developer at BioWare, who left to ‘take on a new set of challenges’. Has this week teased that his next project would support the awesome Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.
Hudson posted a picture over on the Twitter website of the recently shipped Oculus Rift Developer Kit 2 system he has received, accompanied with the message “It begins…”
However since the post on Twitter Hudson has not offered any further explanation or details on the next project or what he might be working on. Also Oculus VR the company behind the Oculus Rift headset has also not commented on the message. The VR Focus website suggests :
“Two obvious suggestions spring to mind with this tease. The first is that Hudson could be developing a new video game with Oculus Rift compatibility on PC. Of course, it’s also possible that Hudson is just the latest addition to Oculus VR’s seemingly ever-growing staff roster.
The company has been on something of a recruitment-spree since it was purchased by Facebook for $2 billion USD earlier in the year, having already hired the likes of Valve’s Michael Abrash and Naughty Dog founder Jason Rubin.”
As more information about the highly anticipated Oculus Rift project becomes available we will keep you updated as always.
