Since its launch last year on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Grand Theft Auto 5 has been a huge success for its developers Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive. Now it seems that Lindsay Lohan feels that a character within the GTA 5 game called Lacey Jonas is a little too close for comfort and reflects her own personal lifestyle.
When the game launched it took more than $800 million on its first day and after three days GTA 5 had passed $1 billion in sales, and receive highly favourable reviews for its gameplay and three main characters portrayed within the game.
Lohan has now filed a lawsuit against Rockstar Games for using her likeness in the action adventure game. Yahoo Finance explains:
“The suit was filed Wednesday in New York City, where Rockstar is based. Lohan feels the character’s clothing, voice, image and style are extremely similar to her own. The New York City-born actress, who turns 28 today, also claims the game depicts West Hollywood’s famous Chateau Marmont hotel, where Lohan once resided.”
As you can see in the image above, Lohan may have a point, she does have blonde hair, uses a smartphone and has probably worn a bikini in the past. What are your thoughts?
On a brighter note Grand Theft Auto 5 will finally be launching on PC and next-generation PlayStation 4 and Xbox One games consoles later this year, after a longer than expected wait for the title to release on these platforms.
