After being caught on camera over the weekend, LG has now officially announced and unveiled their new LG Optimus G smartphone. The LG Optimus G smartphone is equipped with a Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) processor with a Quad-Core Krait CPU, and is claiming to be the first commercial smartphone to be equipped with the powerful processor.
The powerful Snapdragon S4 Pro is supported by 2GB of RAM, together with 4G LTE connectivity and LG’s new touch technology called in-cell touch, and will ship with Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system installed.
Specification for the LG Optimus G smartphone includes a True HD 1280 x 768 resolution IPS+ LCD display, which sits within a 3mm bezel on the phone. On the rear of the device LG have fitted a 13 megapixel camera and on the front a 1.3 megapixel camera perfect for video calls, Skype and the like.
LG will be launching their Optimus G Snapdragon S4 Pro smartphone during October-November in Japan, and next week in Korea. Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet.
